FAQ
No. FR coveralls can have different CAT levels, arc ratings, fabric weights, and stated safety standards. Check the individual product label rather than assuming every style provides identical protection.
FR coveralls for men should allow squatting, climbing, kneeling, and overhead reaching without pulling across the shoulders or exposing the wrists and ankles. Leave enough room for approved base layers, but avoid excess fabric around machinery.
No. Bright colors and reflective tape do not automatically make hi vis coveralls ANSI compliant. Verify any stated ANSI/ISEA 107 type and class, along with the garment’s FR rating, before using it for visibility-sensitive work.
Choose 6 oz coveralls for lower bulk, 7.5 oz for a balance of weight and structure, or 10 oz for a more substantial feel. Fabric weight should only be compared after confirming the required FR rating and body coverage.
Yes, when the fit and workplace PPE program allow it. Base layers under FR coveralls should not contain meltable materials that may increase injury risk, and the layered system must still close fully and maintain coverage.
Follow the sewn-in care label for the exact garment. Use approved detergent, avoid prohibited bleach, softeners, dryer sheets, and starch, and inspect the coveralls after cleaning for tears, damaged seams, worn fabric, or remaining contamination.
